Trying to make art for everyone
I call this image "Hair to Hare". It depicts a transformation of Hair on someone's head to a Hare- as in bunny rabbit. It was made for a barber shop themed gallery show at Monkey House here in LA.
The thing i really like about this image is the way I made it. I am always looking for ways to do runs of an item without involving major manufacturing. Quality is always king in my view. Craftsmanship is also very important, things I make should be solid and made to last. For this image I used laser cut masonite and silk screening as my mediums. I designed a hidden drawer (shown open in the second photo) into which I placed a miniature tin that holds an actual piece of the destroyed Silk Screen used to print the colors. This ensures that the numbered edtion is limited and authentic.
